Turkey is worth visiting for many reasons. Firstly, it is a country with a rich history and cultural heritage. From the ancient ruins of Ephesus to the stunning architecture of Istanbul, Turkey offers a glimpse into the past like no other.
Additionally, Turkey is known for its breathtaking natural landscapes, including the stunning beaches of Bodrum and Antalya, the surreal terraces of Pamukkale, and the picturesque coastal town of Fethiye. The warm hospitality of the Turkish people and the delicious cuisine are also major draws for visitors. Whether you’re interested in history, nature, or simply relaxing on the beach.
During my most recent trip, I booked a tour with my local friends to explore some amazing places in Turkey. We rented a car and spent 7 days touring some of Turkey’s most magnificent sights. My first stop was the vibrant city of Istanbul.
1. ISTANBUL
I spent one day in Istanbul before flying to Izmir the next day. Istanbul is a city that straddles both Europe and Asia, making it a unique and fascinating destination. It is home to iconic landmarks such as the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. The city also offers a vibrant food scene, bustling markets like the Grand Bazaar, and a rich history that dates back to ancient times.
2. THE ANCIENT RUINS OF EPHESUS
On my first day in Izmir, I met up with my local friends for lunch in one of the bustling restaurants in Alsancak. We rented a car and enjoyed the beautiful coastline and visited the ancient city of Ephesus. Ephesus is home to well-preserved ruins such as the Library of Celsus and the Temple of Artemis. You can also take a boat tour to the nearby Greek island of Samos for a day trip.
Ephesus is an ancient city located near the Aegean Sea. It was once a thriving Greek and Roman city and is now an archaeological site that attracts visitors from all over the world. The well-preserved ruins include the Library of Celsus, the Great Theater, and the Temple of Artemis, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

3. PARAGLIDING EXPERIENCE IN FETHIYE
Fethiye is a charming town located on the Turquoise Coast of Turkey. It is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, including the famous Oludeniz Beach and the Butterfly Valley. Fethiye is also a gateway to the Lycian Way, a long-distance hiking trail that offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coastline. The town itself has a laid-back atmosphere, with a picturesque harbor, lively markets, and a range of outdoor activities to enjoy.
We were quite lucky with the weather during our visit. We decided to try paragliding, and it was the best experience I’d ever had. I was nervous at first, but as we took off into the sky, I was enthralled by the view of Ölüdeniz beach from above.

4. BODRUM
In Bodrum, we relaxed on the stunning beach and visited the Bodrum Castle, which houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology. Bodrum is a popular coastal town known for its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant nightlife. The town offers a mix of historical sites, modern amenities, and a lively atmosphere that makes it a favorite destination for both locals and tourists.
5. THE BEAUTIFUL TOWN OF MARMARIS
Marmaris is a popular resort town located on the southwestern coast of Turkey. It is known for its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant nightlife. The town offers a range of activities, including water sports, boat trips, and exploring the nearby Dalyan Mud Baths. Marmaris also has a charming old town with narrow streets, traditional Turkish houses, and a bustling bazaar.
6. STUNNING COASTAL IN ANTALYA
Antalya is a stunning coastal city located on the southwestern coast of Turkey. It is known for its picturesque beaches, turquoise waters, and beautiful landscapes. The city also offers a rich history, with ancient ruins such as the Roman Hadrian’s Gate and the Hidirlik Tower. Antalya is a popular destination for beach lovers, history enthusiasts, and nature seekers alike.
7. UNIQUE NATURAL WONDER OF PAMUKKALE
Our last destination was Pamukalle. Pamukkale is a unique natural wonder that is famous for its terraces of white mineral-rich hot springs. The terraces, known as travertines, have been formed over thousands of years and create a stunning landscape that resembles a cotton castle. Along with the other visitors, we walked on the terraces and even take a dip in the thermal waters. Pamukkale is also home to the ancient city of Hierapolis, which offers well-preserved ruins and a fascinating history.
I hope this gives you a good overview of these amazing places in Turkey. Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like me to include in the blog post!
